[ He knows Murata hasn't helped her people in Mondstadt. He also knows that he and Vennessa are friends. Still, he also knows how deep loyalty can go. And sometimes people are loyal to someone who doesn't necessarily deserve it. And for what it is worth, he sees her as one of his. Probably for nearly the whole time he has known her. He takes a small step back, reaches up, placing hands on her cheeks to pull her towards him, just a little. There's a soft shift in his expression. The smile is sincere. Probably the first truly sincere smile that she's ever seen.
As friendly and good natured as Venti typically is, it's rare that he would be honest with how he feels. He has a lot going on behind the sweet smiles, the excessive alcohol, and the songs. The mischievous nature, the laughter, the play - it's all designed to keep others safely away from the parts of him that he's always kept buried. ]
I'm glad you stayed. What you did was very important, sure, but I also am pretty selfish, too. I'm glad you stayed with me.
[Vennessa may not have high levels of academic intelligence but she at least knows where best to place her trust and loyalty and that loyalty has not been with Murata since Vennessa had been young.
When she sees that smile on his face - that genuine, warm smile devoid of any of the theatre that usually accompanies his mischief and playfulness - she can't help but smile right back.]
I don't know what's going to happen yet, but I know that if I stay in Mondstadt then it's because I want to. [She is nothing if not strong-willed. If she wished to leave then nothing would stop her.] And because I think of it as my home.
[ He laughs, still light and easy as he looks up at her. His arms are still wrapped around her, holding close. ]
Oh - I know. I'd never be able to make you do something you didn't already want to do.
[ That much is fact and he knows it. He can give her seeds of thought, ideas, but ultimately - it will be her choice and he knows damn well not to try and think he could bend her to his will.
And he likes that about her. He likes that she's strong-willed. ]
[She cups Venti's jaw gently, brushing her thumb across his cheekbone. What a wonder he is, truly. Vennessa does not often trust easily, but he had won her over so quickly that she already can't imagine doing anything of what he says she will without him there.]
So no more worrying about me, all right? Whatever is going to happen, will happen.
[Whether that is her being here for some time or leaving tomorrow... what good would it do either of them to worry?]
You can stay here with me for a bit, if you want to.

[ He's not exactly great at coping with anything. But he is honestly trying to do good. Truly. He smiles - only a little - and just for her. ]
But I'd love to stay here. You know, do that thing where we're making memories. I'll stay for as long as you'll have me.
